Bot Massacre: Server Rules

Play fair, play the objective, keep it fun for everyone.

Quick Principles

1
Be respectful. No harassment, slurs, hate speech, or doxxing.
2
Play the objective and work as a team. English is preferred for comms.
3
Friendly fire is on. Check your targets.
4
Cheats mean a permanent ban. Exploits lead to progressive penalties. See below.

1) Respect and Conduct

  • No harassment, racism, hate speech, slurs, or toxic behavior in text or voice.
  • No mic spam such as soundboards or screaming. No unsolicited music. Music via mic is allowed only under the consent policy.
  • Keep comms useful. English is preferred for clarity.
  • Privacy matters. Do not share personal info. Doxxing results in a permanent ban.

2) Teamplay and Objectives

  • Play the objective. Do not wander off or stall progression.
  • Help the team. Call intel, cover pushes, and revive when possible.
  • Do not block doorways, ladders, or firing lines.
  • Friendly fire happens. Be disciplined with explosives and sprays.

Insurgency 2014 has no medics or engineers by default. Builds and jumps are fine if they do not delay objectives or exploit AI.

3) Weapons and Equipment

  • Respect class roles. Do not take a slot just to waste it.
  • No reckless explosives in tight spaces or near spawns or regroup points.
  • Avoid firing near friendly spawns and team clusters.

4) Spawn and Bot Rules

  • No spawn trapping of bots. Do not farm spawns directly or sit on fresh spawns to farm kills.
  • Use a sensible buffer. Keep distance from bot spawns unless they overlap an active objective.
  • Do not place IEDs or C4 or call support purely to trap spawn exits.
  • Reality check. Some maps spawn bots on or near objectives. Incidental kills from range are okay. Intent matters.
  • “Last-man camping” means hiding instead of playing the objective. It is discouraged and may be warned or kicked if it stalls the round.

5) Cheating and Exploits

  • Cheats, hacks, or script assistsPermanent ban.
  • Exploits or glitches such as map bugs, AI pathing abuse, pixel peaks, or delaying objectives for farm are warned then kicked then temp banned. Staff use discretion.
  • “Silly tactics” that help the team and do not stall objectives may be tolerated. If it harms flow or fairness, expect action.

6) Staff and Admin Policy

  • Follow admin or mod instructions. Their word is final in the moment.
  • No staff impersonation.
  • Take disputes to private appeals. Do not argue in public chat.
  • Admins may act outside written rules to protect match flow and community health.

7) Alt Accounts and Evasion

  • Alt use for ban evasion leads to an immediate permanent ban on all linked accounts. SourceSleuth or IP patterns may apply.
  • Alts used to troll or disrupt lead to a permanent ban.
  • Legit second accounts such as family on the same PC must be declared to staff before playing. Otherwise they are treated as evasion.

Admins may request proof such as Steam profile, playtime, or VAC history. There are no warnings for alt abuse.

8) Enforcement Ladder

LevelTypical UseExamples
WarningFirst step for minor issuesBlocking, mic spam, reckless explosives, accidental TKs
KickRepeat after a warning or a moderate offenseDeliberate team damage, constant trolling, ignoring objectives
Temp Ban (24h–3mo)Serious or repeated behaviorHarassment, slurs, griefing, ignoring multiple warnings
Permanent BanSevere violationsCheating or hacking, alt evasion, extreme toxicity, doxxing

Staff may escalate or skip steps depending on severity and context.

9) Voice and Music Broadcasting

  • Consent first. The broadcaster asks their squad in chat or voice if they want music. For example say “Music? type Y for yes, N for no.” Continue only if at least one third of the squad says yes and no one says no. One no means no music.
  • Quality and volume. Use a proper virtual audio device. Do not hot-mic game audio. Keep music quieter than comms. Avoid clipping. Pause during callouts, last-man situations, caps or defuses, and whenever asked.
  • Theming and requests. Themed tracks are welcome. Take volume, song, or genre suggestions. Keep it broadly suitable for all audiences.
  • One broadcaster per squad. If multiple players want to DJ, coordinate. Staff may keep an optional list of approved broadcasters who set up audio correctly.
  • Fallback. If consent is not reached, move music to a separate Steam voice chat or party for those who want it.
  • Enforcement. Ignoring consent or volume, or disrupting comms after a warning, counts as mic spam and will escalate using the ladder.

Tip. You can locally mute a player if needed using in-game audio or scoreboard options.

FAQ / Clarifications

Is spawn killing always banned?

We target spawn trapping and intent to farm. Incidental kills can happen on some maps where sightlines reach spawn areas. That is okay. If you are denying all bot action or stalling objectives to farm, expect staff action.

Jump-perk roof plays?

Allowed if it does not stall the objective or exploit bot AI or spawns. If your positioning repeatedly causes round losses because you are too far to recap, you may be warned.

Mic spam versus hyped comms?

Keep voice for teamwork. Music, soundboards, and screaming are not okay unless music follows the consent policy. If in doubt, do not broadcast.
